I contacted Damien Chen thru his website in November 2007 looking for a long-term stay apartment in Vancouver. I was very pleased initially with the professionalism of his response. He contacted me right back and I booked the condo in the Latitude building for an initial 6 months.

When I did land in Vancouver and met Damien for the first time, I was impressed with the depth of his courtesy and kindness. He had the documentation about the apartment all ready and all I had to do was move in.

I extended my stay to a year and once again, the speed of the processing of my request was extraordinary. When it came time to fix small problems with appliances, Damien was on hand to attend to my needs within 24 hours. What more can you ask for?

Lastly, my exit was handled very well and speedily on the morning of my departure. I've lived in Vancouver a long time and have met a lot of landlords of differing levels of competence. I'd say that Damien is easily one of the most professional, courteous and gracious hosts I've had the pleasure to rent a condo from.
 

Coming to the condo itself, its north-facing so u get a spectacular view of the North Shore. The huge windows ensure lots of natural light all year around. The local couldn't be better; its walking distance to everything including the Skytrain which gets you downtown in 15 minutes or uptown (to Surrey) in about 20 minutes. The furnishing is awesome and everything works from the get-go. There are plenty of parks, jogging trails, sports facilities etc all located a few minutes from the building.

I intend to return to Vancouver in the summer of 2009 and will be contacting Damien for my accommodation.

"turn-key solution"

Great service from the landlord. Extremely professional, detailed and thorough about expectations and the amenities to ensure that I knew about all the little details. Everything I needed was there to make a smooth transition during my work relocation. I didn't have to worry about anything. Iron, bathroom essentials, cleaning products, vacuum, etc., etc., etc...it was all there.

I could focus on work instead of having to 'settle in'. Unbelievably clean unit as well. The landlord has a great turn-key solution for those looking to focus on other things such as work or vacation. Location is great too especially with the sky-train being across the street. The landlord is very flexible, trustworthy and kind. I would highly recommend staying here.

I spent 160 days at the place with absolutely no problems or complaints from the side of my wife or myself. Would certainly consider it as my first choice any time I'm back in Vancouver in the future.

I moved to Damien's place at Crowley Drive last year and I couldn't have wished for a better place to call my first home here in Canada. His place had everything I needed to live comfortably (and less homesick). Damien was easy to talk to and he always made himself available whenever I had questions or needed assistance. The place was conveniently located near the Sky Train station and surrounded by beautiful and well maintained parks. Groceries and restaurants were nearby and easy to get to. The building and neighbourhood were safe and quiet. I would recommend Damien's place in heartbeat.

We lived at Damien's apartment in The Brio building for +4 years (2016-2020) as we wanted a furnished apartment in Vancouver that's close to work and main amenities and we were very lucky to find this apartment and its owner!.

I can describe Damien as an honest, transparent, and lawful person. He's very friendly and communicative, knows Strata bylaws laws and respects them, and will respect your privacy and traditions. We had a good and stress-free relationship with him.

I have been in 2 furnished places before this one and Brio's apartment is very well furnished and equipped and we didn't have to add that much to get started. I particularly liked the wide bedroom with the big wide window, bathroom design, and how there's lots of storage in the place.

 The building is well maintained, clean, and quiet. It's only 7 mins walking distance from Joyce Skytrain station, 2 mins mins walking from bus stops, close to Kingsway with its many restaurants, nearby Safeway, London Drugs/Canada Post, Banks, UPS, Grocery and Produce shops, cafes, and most important: very close to Walk-in clinic, 2 community centers, and Evergreen Health Center. We simply didn't have to own a car for 4 years because we could walk to Metrotown, Central Park, quickly ride the train to Downtown and Mainstreet areas in no more than 20 mins.
 Also the area is safe, we never had any experience that made us feel unsafe.
 
 I can't recommend this place enough for a starting family or a working couple, if we weren't to upgrade to a bigger place for the family we would never feel the urge to move out, we had a lovely stay with lots of beautiful memories and will always feel grateful to Damien and attached to the area.

My wife and I lived at 3638 Vanness Ave, between July ‘20 to July ‘21. We originally chose the space because of the neighbourhood, the ease to public transportation and availability of necessary infrastructure within the close proximity. 


Since we had recently moved to Vancouver from abroad, we were specifically looking for a space that came furnished - That’s why we loved this condo. Not only did it come with the regular furnishing, but it also included most other items that would be necessary for a household including vacuum cleaner, TV and kitchen utensils.


Although we selected the place for the above reasons, we extended the lease because of the courteous and prompt nature of the landlord, Damien. He has always been responsive and helpful from day 1. I can't recall a time when it has taken him more than a few hours to respond to my requests, irrespective of the time. Even when I had contacted him regarding regular maintenance of the house (replacement of bulbs, door batteries, etc.) he has always performed them within a day’s time. 


The only reason we have decided to move away is because with the onset of work-from-home because of the pandemic - we were in need of a bigger space to accommodate our home offices.


Damien has by far been the most responsive, knowledgeable and kindest landlord I’ve had till now and can wholeheartedly recommend him to any prospective tenants looking to rent from him.
